About this work
Salome dances in a hall before Herod, who lies at the table with Herodias under a canopy. Because of her beautiful dance, Salome may ask Herod for a wish. Salome will ask for the head of John the Baptist. Top left: a scene with the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist. Top right: John, who addresses Herod about his relationship with Herodias. Bottom: the beheading of John the Baptist.
