Sheet with an oval allegorical representation and a two-line time verse on the inauguration of the new Amsterdam Theatre on the Leidseplein, 15 September 1774. This city theatre was built to replace the theatre on the Keizersgracht that burned down in 1772 and burned down itself in 1890. In the middle the personification of the Amsterdam Theatre, with a new beehive on her lap, welcomes a man and two children. To her right two putti unroll an image of the new building.
