About this work

Allegorical representation on the 50th anniversary of Felix Meritis. A female figure sits on a chair with a relief next to her depicting a beehive and the year 1777. Next to her an allegorical male figure with wings making a drawing on an oval medallion. Behind them a round building with columns. At the bottom a frieze with symbols of science and arts, such as books, caduceus, palette and brushes, lyre, measuring instruments and globe.
