About this work

At the bottom, the sleeping Telemachus is protected by a floating Athena with a spear in her hand. With her other hand she deflects the arrow that Amor has shot at Telemachus. Venus floats with Amor and two doves above them on a cloud. The whole is framed by an ornamental border with olive branches and a bow at the bottom. Numbered top right: No. I.
