About this work
Half-length portrait of Pieter de la Rue, treasurer and chairman of the college of minor affairs at Middelburg. De la Rue has his left hand in his coat and wears a wig and a scarf. On the wall in the background hangs a family coat of arms. Below the image an empty plaque with above it a crowned coat of arms with the Dutch lion.
