About this work

The bride sits on an island. She looks up to heaven, where Science (Scientia) sits on a cloud. Faith (Fides), Hope (Spes) and Love (Charitas) intercede for the bride with Christ. Love is about to shoot her arrow into the heart of Christ. In the margin a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
