About this work

Fighting men and women with physical disabilities attack each other with crutches and sticks and pull each other by the hair. In this period this theme was also called the 'Fight of the Cripples'. In the period in which this print originated 'crippled' was a generic term to describe a physical disability of the lower body. This print is social satire.
