About this work

Penelope, the wife of Odysseus, sits behind her loom. She is making a shroud for her father-in-law Laërtes, but at night she unravels what she has woven during the day. An angel helps her. In the margin the title in French, English, German and Dutch. The image is decorated with an ornamental border.
