About this work

An older woman sits on an ornately carved chair in front of her house or shop with a fabric awning. She holds her feet on a foot warmer. She gives or sells Palm Sunday sticks with bread buns to the children gathering around her. A mother points to the decorated sticks on a small child on her arm. A larger girl beside her is crying. On both sides of the older woman, more sticks are displayed. On the street, two dogs play.
