About this work
An allegorical female figure with a flame on her head, representing divine inspiration, receives a scroll inscribed with the text: The Proverbs of Solomon, from a female figure on a cloud. Between them, a pedestal bears a portrait of an elephant, next to an anchor and two stone tablets with Roman numerals I through X. On the pedestal sits a censer.
