Pilate, standing on the balcony of his palace, shows Christ to the people. In the foreground two soldiers bent over a prisoner in a dungeon. In the background Pilate washes his hands in innocence. In the margin a four-line inscription in Latin. Fourteenth print from a series of twenty-four with the Birth and Passion of Christ.
