About this work
Elisabetta Farnese, Queen of Spain, lies in the lying-in bed. The lady-in-waiting by her bedside shows her newborn son, Louis Anthony. On the left, some visitors enter the room. On the right stands Philip V. Bottom left, a two-line text in Dutch with an explanation of the scene, and right, a comparable explanation in Latin.
