About this work
Portrait to the right of Rutger Schutte at the age of 63 in an oval medallion. In his hand he holds a writing quill. The portrait rests on a pedestal with a lyre, a sheet of paper with two lines in Dutch, a book and a pan flute. On the pedestal a field with a six-line verse in Dutch.
