About this work

Allegorical memorial for Adolf Frederik van der Scheer, preacher in Amsterdam. An allegorical female figure with a flame on her head and a crucifix at the foot of the monument, upon which the portrait of Van der Scheer appears in a medallion. Surrounding it are three putti with an anchor, hourglass and laurel wreath.
