About this work
The lion, surrounded by other animals, acts as judge. Before him stands the sad cow who brings up the murder of her calf. Next to the cow stands the wolf who denies the murder of the calf. Illustration for the story 'The Lion as Judge' from 'Fables for the Dutch Youth'.
