About this work

Shipper's wife from Holland, standing to the right, seen from the back at an angle, a market tub (shavings with metal hoops) on the right arm. Over a cap sticking out on both sides of the face a large, round pointed hat. Wide pleated collar. Sleeveless, tailored jacket trimmed with fur along the hem. Loose-falling, ankle-length skirt over bum pad over which white apron. Slippers with block heel.
