About this work

Merchant's wife from Antwerp, slightly to the right, dressed in a hood which is attached to a flat hat with stem as handle on the forehead. White high-closed collar above a dark outer garment which is gathered from the back, so that the undergarment with passementerie is visible. The hands in a large fur muff.
