About this work

The personification of Africa, standing on a pedestal surrounded by ornamental decorations. She has a bundle of sticks in her hands and is flanked by an elephant and a lion. Above her a chameleon and two Africans. At the bottom of the print two sea monsters. The print is part of a series on the four continents.
