About this work
The liberal party, in the person of the devil, drives away seven members. They have wings and are welcomed by a pope, probably Herman Schaepman, in the clouds. The scene refers to the moment when seven liberals, in the First Chamber, voted for the revision, despite the fact that the liberal party was against the proposal. This caused a breakthrough. This print was published by De Lantaarn.
