About this work

The ship of state lies damaged on the beach among wreckage of current issues. To the side stands a sailor. According to him the ship is rotten inside and a makeover will do no good. With this he refers to the political unrest during the Heemskerk cabinet and his failed attempts to realize the constitutional revisions. This print was published by De Lantaarn.
