About this work

Balaam urges his donkey to go on and strikes her with a club, but she is stopped by an angel with a sword. In the landscape behind Balaam stand three warriors. Below the image the title in Latin, four four-line verses in Dutch, and a reference to the biblical text in Num. 22:22.
