About this work
On the left stand Aaron and Moses next to the brazen serpent fixed on a pole. Men, women and children, who are bitten by poisonous snakes, look at the brazen serpent to remain alive. Below the representation the title in Latin, a four-line verse in Dutch, French, English and German and a reference to the Bible text in Numbers 21.
