About this work

Vignette with the portrait of the personified Falsehood, depicted on a cloth that is hung on an ornate frame. The frame is adorned with a devilish head and decorated around with masks, fishing nets and fishing rods. Falsehood wears a mask, holds a burning torch in her hands and has a wooden leg. The print is part of a series of book illustrations on virtues and vices.
