About this work

The bridegroom (Christ) receives the five wise virgins who are ready for the wedding feast. In the background the foolish virgins are looking for oil to fill their lamps. In the margin a four-line caption, in two columns, in Latin referring to the virgins who are received in heaven and to the virgins who are shut out.
