About this work
Arrival of King William II at the town hall of Schiedam, July 31, 1846. A special scaffold was built in front of the town hall in honor of the visit. On the scaffold are the inscriptions 'King and Fatherland', 'Waterloo', and 'Quatre-Bras'. The king stands on the steps of the town hall. On the square, the assembled public; the houses are decorated with flags.
