Painting of the Battle of Kassel (1677) in the grand staircase of the Palace of Versailles. Depiction of the battle in an ornamental frame with figures of Fame, an eagle, and vines. In the Battle of Kassel on 11 April 1677, the French army under Philip I, Duke of Orleans, defeated the army of the Republic under the Prince of Orange. Numbered bottom right: 21.
