About this work
Half-length portrait to the right of Ferdinandus de' Medici, son of Cosimo III de' Medici and Marguerite Louise d'Orléans, wearing armour over which a collar and a sash, in an oval surrounded by a laurel wreath. At the bottom in a cartouche a lightning bolt, below that on a tablet under a plinth his name and two lines in Latin.
