About this work

In the air a young man takes off his hat to be laurelled by Apollo. Behind Apollo are Muses. Below in the foreground lie books of e.g. Horatius, Homerus, Vergilius, on the right lie a pair of scissors and a chimney sweep's broom. Under the scene stands a two-line text.
