About this work

The female personification of the element Water sails in a triumphal chariot, drawn by sea horses. Under her arm, an overturned urn from which water flows. On the cart are symbols of the zodiac, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces, corresponding to the months of December, January, and February. In the background on the beach, a woman is conversing with a crowned nereid. In the frame in the margin, a two-line inscription in Latin.
