About this work
Map of the Brugse Vrije, the largest viscounty of the County of Flanders. Bottom left the title cartouche with at the bottom two scales: Milliare Germanicum commune / 2 Milliaria Gallica communia. On the left side of the cartouche a costume figure with the coat of arms of the County of Flanders, in mirror image, and on the right side a costume figure with probably the coat of arms of Ostend. Above the cartouche two coats of arms with a lion, possibly the coats of arms of Bruges and, again, the County of Flanders.
