About this work

Satirical print in which, after Napoleon's return to France, his army marches to war again. Napoleon standing on a hill, with a globe in hand, gives orders to his adjutant. To the left Napoleon's Mameluke bodyguard Roustam Raza draws his saber. In the foreground a ridiculous procession of generals with donkeys marches past. In the caption two seven-line verses in German, spoken by the emperor.
