About this work

The General Mobilization, an allegorical decoration erected on the Kadijksplein in Amsterdam for the Alliance Festival on June 19, 1795. A medieval castle standing on rocks, with symbols of astronomy, hydrography, and geometry on the towers. On the chassinet in the underpass, Liberty is hoisted on a shield by Batavian and French sailors.
