About this work

The trophy contains the flag with pennant of King Richard III, a reference to the Wars of the Roses, weapons, a harness, shackles, a beheading, musical instruments, a mask, books and roses. The central white rose represents the House of York and the (red) withered rose represents the House of Lancaster.
