About this work

Monument for Hugo de Groot in the New Church of Delft. In a niche on a pedestal stands a mourning putto holding a extinguished torch and the coat of arms of Hugo de Groot. Next to him an urn, a portrait of De Groot, and books. Monument erected by the family of the deceased in 1781.
