About this work

Portraits of seven German professors with the names Wilhelm Karl Grimm, Jacob Ludwig Karl Grimm, Wilhelm Eduard Albrecht, Friedrich Christoph Dahlmann, Georg Gottfried Gervinus, Wilhelm Eduard Weber, and Heinrich Ewald. Due to their protest against the abolition of the liberal constitution in 1837, they were dismissed or exiled. Together they are also known as the Göttinger Seven.
