English lady of quality with a feathered fan

English lady, standing to the right, with hair combed tightly back but with frizzled curls hanging on the forehead and from the temples. A bun appears visible at the back of the head. Drop earrings and a string of pearls around the neck. Dressed in a gown consisting of a short bodice with a low straight neckline, high waist, wide 7/8 sleeves, skirt consisting of several panels, on a long, ample skirt slightly trailing on the ground. In the neckline a large, scalloped lace neckerchief closed in the front with a brooch and an ornament on the bodice. Diagonally across the bodice - from the right shoulder - three long pearl necklaces. In the raised waist a tied sash. The sleeves are trimmed with passementerie, as is the skirt. Wide, turned-back cuffs trimmed with scalloped lace. In the right hand a feather fan. No. 1 from the series Ornatus Muliebris Anglicanus.
