About this work

On the obverse of the upper medal: the initials WG with grape clusters; on the reverse the name and date. On the obverse of the second medal: Aesculapius leaning with his right hand on a staff of snakes (esculap) and his left hand under his mantle, standing between two vases with plants on a pedestal; in the background the wall of a building; on the reverse: the crowned coat of arms of Amsterdam between two cornucopias filled with plenty above an ointment spatula around which a snake coils, lying on a pedestal with an inscription.
