About this work
Joseph is sold by his brothers to merchants in a caravan. Upon their return they tell their father Jacob that they have found Joseph's blood-stained garment in the wilderness, causing Jacob to think that his son has been devoured by a wild beast. One of the brothers shows Jacob Joseph's blood-stained garment. Under the scene is a line of text in Latin, numbered in the lower left: 3. The print is part of a series of prints about the life of Joseph.
