About this work
Thisbe finds her beloved Pyramus dying. He lies on the ground near two trees with a knife stuck in his chest while she stands shocked beside him. On the left is the lioness that in the story tears Thisbe's veil to pieces, this veil lies on the ground. Between the trees a city is visible.
