About this work

Eleazar falls in the battle against the Seleucids. He kills the king's elephant with a spear. Then the elephant falls and crushes Eleazar. Illustration for 1 Maccabees 6:43. Below the image, a title in Greek, English, German, Latin, French, and Dutch.
