About this work
In a landscape lies the dead man of God from Judah. Next to him stand the lion and the donkey. The man of God had gone against God's command by eating and drinking in Bethel. When he left there on his donkey he was attacked and killed by a lion, but not devoured. Two passers-by are startled at the sight of the dead man. In the margin at the bottom a reference to the Bible text and the title in Hebrew, English, German, Latin, French and Dutch.
