About this work
On the night of 11 to 12 September 1572 an attempt is made on the Prince of Orange. Just in time William of Orange, who is asleep in his army tent at Bergen (Hainaut), is woken by the barking of his dog, causing the attempt to fail. This print forms part of a series of 24 prints depicting scenes from the life of Prince William I, 1568-1584, and is an illustration to the seventh canto.
