About this work

Peasant interior with a young man kneeling on the ground and asking forgiveness from the father of the girl, whom he has seduced. The girl stands behind the kneeling man and an older woman pulls her apron aside so that her belly is visible. On the wall hangs a print with Adam and Eve.
