About this work

During the Peace of Venlo (1543) the Duke of Guelders, William II, kneels before the throne of Emperor Charles V and submits to his power. He hands him the coat of arms of Guelders. The print has a Latin, Spanish and French inscription and is part of a twelve-part series on the victories of Charles V.
