About this work

In a rolling, wooded landscape, Adonis sits on a small hill. He embraces Venus, who leans against him. A dog is depicted in front of and behind him. A quiver lies on the ground. To the left, Cupid holds a third dog on a leash. A small body of water is visible in the left foreground.
