About this work

Ornamental frame crowned by a coat of arms and two putti, one with the sword of justice, the other with the mirror and serpent of prudence. Left: the coat of arms of Leiden. Bottom: Fame blows a trumpet and holds a cornucopia under her arm. Before her sits Justice on the Dutch lion. Left and right: the busts of two scholars.
