About this work

Perseus sits on a rock near the sea. To his left lies the severed head of Medusa. At his feet is the shield in which he gazed at Medusa's reflection when he beheaded her. In his left hand he holds a helmet adorned with feathers. To his right, a figure, possibly Andromeda.
