Two prisoners, chained together, stand and sit in a harbor. One of the two leans against a construction of wood, rope and metal. Behind them stand large anchors. On his jacket the initials: G. P. L. Around the image an ornamental border consisting of dry leaves, branches, various birds, insects, cherubs, snakes and foxes. In the ornamental border recesses with images relating to capture and condemnation to death. In the middle below the image a short poem: 'All my life! ... what a dismal prospect! ... If only I had known! ...' The print was part of a series of 12 prints about the consequences of good and bad behavior.
