About this work

The ruin of the Roman Colosseum. In the center of the Colosseum a statue of Jupiter. Fights are taking place. In the foreground Emperor Vespasian on horseback. He had ordered the construction of the Colosseum. On the left in the foreground a relief with the suckling Romulus and Remus. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the eight wonders of the world.
