About this work
In a round frame the Bronze Age of Minerva. In the foreground the earth is worked and cultivated. Grain is harvested and ore is mined. In the background surveying is being done. The print refers to the mythologically inspired idea that during the Bronze Age man had to work more and more to keep himself alive. Moreover, property was central to life. The print is part of a series on the four ages and has a Latin, French and Dutch inscription.
